The Blender attraction capitalizes on the popular game format of the American Gameshow, but has several key features that set it apart from other gameshows. It has tremendously broad appeal and is the most participatory gameshow available. The most important of these distinguishing features are: TEAM PLAY Unlike Jeopardy (and most other gameshows), contestants play in teams, not as individuals. The game is all about friends and family members pooling their knowledge. The questions are even written in a manner to facilitate this collaboration. IMAGES OVER TEXT Unlike text-based trivia games (e.g. Jeopardy), the Blender is about the combination and juxtaposition of images. This makes it much more accessible, even children and non-English speakers can be on the playing field. MULTI-STRIKE In Jeopardy, if one contestant hits his answer button, the other contestants are "locked out" and may not answer. In the Blender, any contestant-team that answers the question correctly gets credit in the computer database. This is a much more inclusive way to play that gives players more successes than failures. VARIABLE CONTENT The Blender dishes up different content to different groups of people. Different content packages are available for different markets including young adults, families, corporate team building, industry specific conferences, etc. The structure of the game has universal appeal and the content can be written to match any theme, message, or audience sensibility. |
